Burner Adjustment and Heating Rate |
||
|
Compare the heat up rate of the furnace air to the historical data. The heat up rate of the air is a much better indication than the heat up rate of the load. When comparing the air heat up rate to historical data, the furnace work loads should be similar in both total weight and the physical size of the load. Any significant increase in the time it takes to bring the furnace air up to set point means that the combustion system is in need of adjustment. This could be that the burners are not getting enough air pressure. The pressure determines airflow to the burner. More often, the problem is gas flow. In most cases, burners should be set for 10% excess air, which means a rate of approximately 11 volumes of air to 1 volume of gas. Either more or less gas will reduce the heat input. The latest design, materials and equipment specifications should be obtained from the company before any reliance is placed on the enclosed since changes may occur due to product improvement. |
