The new rotary furnace line with a nominal capacity of 200
kilograms per hour, consists of a rotary retort hardening furnace charged by a tipping batch
bucket which discharges into a quench tank, extracted by a mesh belt from
the tank, fed into a rotary two stage washing machine then passing into a
mesh belt conveyor tempering furnace which has the ability to blacken
the product as it exits.
The complete process is controlled by an Allen Bradley SLC5
programmable logic controller with Wonderware software used to enable
operators to visually observe the entire process in real time and
historically.
