SECO/WARWICK
Tilting Reverb furnaces have the reputation for premium
equipment that delivers constant, predictable pour rates for
quality output.
SECO/WARWICK has completed an engineering redesign program
for our Tilting Reverb furnaces in the 40,000 to
240,000 pound range, realizing a 20-30% reduction in cost and a
substantial improvement in delivery times. Utilizing
the latest developments in engineering design technology,
SECO/WARWICK can offer competitively priced custom engineered
efficiency.
Computer aided design allows SECO/WARWICK Engineering to
pre-engineer core design standards that can be readily modified
to meet customer's plant and process requirements. By
automating the mechanical design in both 2 and 3 D,
modifications can easily be made to the core concepts, and
drawings generated in the same amount of time as processing a
furnace standard, which may not fully meet the customer's
process requirements.
The end result is a significant
savings in engineering time/cost, which in turn reduces delivery
time. New concepts can be modeled in 3-D first before
drawings are sent for manufacturing. Overall customer
satisfaction is improved because customers can now purchase
customized equipment at prices competitive with pre-engineered,
off-the-shelf, furnace designs.
In addition to saving engineering and manufacturing time, this review
and upgrade resulted in five product improvements:
- 20% total weight reduction
- Smaller footprint while maintaining the same furnace
capacity
- Reduction in overall furnace components for quicker field
installation
- Cylinder assisted door sealing and closure system
- Furnace front incorporating straight thru
sidewalls for efficient cleaning
About SECO/WARWICK Tilting Reverb Furnaces
Reverb furnaces, are direct-fired,
open hearth furnaces used for melting or holding nonferrous
metal. Applications for the reverb furnace include melting
sows, solids and scrap, along with alloying the molten metal
before casting into usable forms.

| SECO/WARWICK Proprietary Pour Spout |
SECO/WARWICK Tilting Reverb furnaces provide the casting
station operator maximum control over the delivery of molten
metal to the casting machine. The rate of molten metal
flow can be immediately increased or decreased by a convenient
pushbutton control, or automatically by a launder metal level
sensor.
The control of the pour is positive at
all times. One of the most interesting features of this
design is the unique method of tapping the furnace. The
SECO/WARWICK proprietary pour spout is equipped with a gasketed rotary
joint.
The refractory material is of a high alumina
content, high-strength, low moisture, non-wetting
material. The mating flanges are drawn together with a
special locking collar. Since
the rotary pour spout replaces the tap block, no
other stopping or controlling devices are required, thus
reducing maintenance to a very minimum.
SECO/WARWICK
furnaces can be rectangular or circular in shape, depending on
your requirements.
