Central Melt Furnace for aluminum |
SECO/WARWICK standard designed central melting furnaces are available in both electric and gas-fired versions for aluminum casting applications . The WM series offers rugged reinforced construction with superior refractory, combustion system and electrical components for extended operation life and low maintenance.
All standard melting furnace packages include:
- Sturdy steel shell construction consisting of heavy steel plate continuously welded at all joints. Structural steel members welded to the floor reinforce the entire furnace unit providing proper air circulation and height of tap spout. The shell includes an end-mounted charge well for ingot and returns. A dip well and dry hearth are also available.
li>- High quality refractory lining backed with block insulation insures long furnace life and cooler shell temperatures for maximum operator comfort.
- Automatic temperature control equipment consists of indicating-controlling, proportional instrument and thermocouple with protection tube.
- Control panel instrumentation and applicable electrical components can be contained in either a freestanding or wall mounting NEMA 12 prewired enclosure. Control circuit transformer and disconnect switch are centrally located on the control panel to provide additional operator safety.
- Complete instruction and maintenance manualsplus general furnace drawings are supplied upon delivery.
WM-G Gas Fired Furnace
Gas fired units feature a combustion safeguard package consisting of utility failure protection including manual reset safety shut-off valve, pressure switches, pilot failure protection and electric ignition. Also provided is a flame failure relay, flame-on indicator, spark ignition transformer, spark plug and pilot solenoid valve. FM/IRI insurance standards are also available if required.

WM-E Electrically Heated Furnaces
Electrically heated units are equipped with silicon bar heating elements mounted horizontally above the bath. A SCR control package is provided, designed to operate on a 480/460/440 tap secondary power supply. Heating element life can be improved and transformer taps need to be changed less frequently.
