Aluminum Reverb Furnaces

Aluminium Reverb Furnace-Open Front, Tilting Holding

Open front, Tilting Holding Furnace, holding capacity: 90,000 pounds

Reverberatory furnaces (direct fired, open hearth design furnaces), are the style most often used for remelt of non-ferrous metals and are typically called reverbs.  Applications of the reverb furnaces are melting of all forms of solids, holding of molten metal for temperature adjustment, alloy adjustment or metal treatment, and delivery of molten metal for casting.

SECO/WARWICK makes reverb furnaces for all applications.  We stress reliability, durability and service to our customers and we back it up with the accumulated experience from building over 200 reverb furnaces.  We also can offer an understanding of melting practices that comes from the accumulated knowledge of our staff, some with over 40 years of experience in reverb operations.

Aluminium Reverb Furnace-Tilting Round, Top-Charge

This furnace, installed in Australia, is one of a handful of tilting round, top-charge aluminum melting furnaces in the world.

Construction

All SECO/WARWICK reverbs feature rugged steel construction with all seams seal welded.  The furnace shell is reinforced with structural members coped and welded around the entire periphery of the furnace and points of localized stress such as door openings, tap and drain locations and burner mountings receive additional reinforcing.

Refractories

Refractory designs are matched to the furnace application, metal alloy, combustion system type, and mill operating practices and experience. We use multi-layer refractory designs utilizing brick or monolithic (castable) primary linings with insulating material in backup layers.  Roofs can also be done in either castable or suspended brick designs. We also offer designs appropriate for oxygen fired furnaces.

Combustion Systems

SECO/WARWICK selects from a broad choice of the latest burner designs to best suit the needs of a specific furnace.  Burner placement is carefully analyzed to provide maximum coverage and design melt rates without causing the problems with metal quality, dross formation or refractory life that are typically associated with improper burner layout.

SECO/WARWICK can provide systems to utilize all types of combustion requirements (OEM supplied burners) including Cold air, Dual-fuel, Recuperative, Regenerative, Oxy-fuel, NFPA compliant combustion systems and PLC based control systems.

Tilting Reverb Furnaces

Aluminium Reverb Furnace-Tilting Holding

A 22 foot wide full open front and single door allow for easy access to this tilter holder furnace, 85,000 pound capacity.

SECO/WARWICK’s experience is unsurpassed in the manufacturing of tilting reverb furnaces, a market specialty that we have been active in for over 40 years.  The tilting furnace is ideally suited to providing an automatically controlled, consistent metal flow to continuous or vertical DC casting equipment in a safe and reliable fashion.

A special feature available on our tilting reverb furnaces is the SECO/WARWICK proprietary rotary pour spout.  Built to be reliable and durable just like the rest of the furnace, this leak free joint provides a fixed launder attachment point to the tilting furnace system which does not require any operator attention between cast campaigns.
