The Whirl-A-Way quench is designed to
provide uniform quench results with ferrous and nonferrous metal parts after
they have reached temperature in the furnace.
Typical
applications: Coins, nuts, studs, nails, screws, bolts and
washers.
The Whirl-A-Way quench uses oil, synthetic or water
media, and is designed to prevent atmosphere contamination in the
furnace.
This unique design utilizes a pressurized chamber to
generate quench fluid velocity to convey parts without a belt which
prevents lost parts, clumps and clogs.
The vapor barrier
commonly present during quench is wiped from each part
individually by the media flow. This action produces superior
uniformity and hardness results on otherwise difficult, if not
impossible, applications.
Parts are discharged into the quench chute and the
quench medium seconds after temperature has been achieved, and are
conveyed to the rotating quench drum by the velocity of the quench
fluid. On entry into the rotary quench drum, parts are
conveyed to the discharge end by the revolving motion of the drum
flight conveyor.
The Whirl-A-Way Quench is recommend for small parts
due to its outstanding ability to handle a wide variety of sizes and
shapes.
The unit requires no pit or belt conveyor when used with
a SECO/WARWICK system, and is ideal for adaptation to any rotary retort, shuffle hearth, conveyor belt or shaker hearth
type furnace.
When you need speed: actual
quenching is completed within two to five seconds from the time parts
drop into the quenchant. Parts are completely processed in about
ten minutes.
When you need dependability:
the fluid flow system assures individual quenching of each part.
Design helps to eliminate clumps and clogs to assure proper quench
technique.
When you need ruggedness:
the tough construction of the Whirl-A-Way will stand up under your
most demanding production conditions if you use oil, water or
synthetics.
