Four vacuum furnaces will support the development of components for aviation, energy and the nuclear sector.

Major Partner from China Invests in SECO/WARWICK Vacuum Furnaces

SECO/WARWICK signed two contracts with a Chinese high-tech sector manufacturer — a supplier of parts for the aviation industry, gas turbines and nuclear energy — for the delivery of four Vector single-chamber vacuum furnaces. The first purchase, including two furnaces, was finalized in the fourth quarter of 2024, and the contract for the next two was signed in mid-2025. All devices will be assembled at SECO/WARWICK’s Chinese plant, significantly shortening delivery time and ensuring high standards of local service support.

«A partner operating in sectors with the highest quality requirements — including aviation engine production, energy and nuclear technology — decided to reorder SECO/WARWICK vacuum furnaces. This confirms that our localization strategy and flexibility in deliveries translates into concrete value for customers,» said Maciej Korecki, Vice President of the Vacuum Segment at SECO/WARWICK.

The global market for aerospace parts production is currently worth approximately USD 53.8 billion, with a projected growth to USD 84.4 billion by 2033 (CAGR 5.1%) [1]. In China, the developing mid-sized components segment for aviation and defense generated over USD 1.5 billion in 2024, with a forecast to exceed USD 2.6 billion by 2030 (CAGR 9.9%). The nuclear energy equipment segment in China is growing at over 6% annually and could double production volume by 2030. Globally, the value of the nuclear energy equipment market is USD 41.7 billion (2024), forecasted to grow to USD 54.6 billion by 2033 (CAGR 2.9%).[2]

Vacuum Furnaces Meeting Aviation Requirements

The new single-chamber vacuum furnaces have a working space of 900 x 900 x 1200 mm, enabling the processing of large parts, such as turbine blades. The devices achieve a working temperature of up to 1400°C with uniformity of ±5°C, and the high vacuum system (10⁻⁴ Pa) ensures clean processing conditions. Gas cooling up to 15bar abs. allows for effective quenching and aging cycles while optimizing energy consumption and process gas emissions.

«We designed the furnaces to handle a wide range of processes — from aging to solution treatment, quenching and tempering. Our installations guarantee highly repeatable conditions and economical handling of components with large working masses explains Liu Yedong, Managing Director of SECO/WARWICK China.

Shortening contract execution times was crucial for the partner. Thanks to the localization strategy of production in Europe and streamlined assembly processes, deliveries are made on schedule.

Vector vacuum furnaces are used in the commercial processing of aerospace components, gas turbines, and nuclear energy. This device meets the stringent NADCAP and AMS 2750 standards, making it a suitable choice for suppliers of components for the aviation and aerospace sectors.
