SECO/WARWICK will deliver a vacuum furnace to the Aerospace business unit of the Godrej Enterprises Group. This is an important step for the Group in developing its competencies in the Indian market for advanced heat treatment in the aerospace industry. The contract includes the supply of a furnace manufactured in Europe, as well as a complete package of auxiliary equipment in a turnkey formula, which will be produced in India. This strengthens the local SECO/WARWICK branch in India and their service capabilities.
Godrej Aerospace is installing a new SECO/WARWICK vacuum furnace to bring critical heat treatment in-house, enhancing production capabilities and reducing supply chain risks. Project highlights:

The Aerospace business unit of the Godrej Enterprises Group is a manufacturer of high-precision aerospace components. They specialize in producing engine parts, structural elements and drive transmission systems used in flying machines.
“The new horizontal vacuum furnace will significantly expand the capabilities of our Partner, who is very active in the aerospace market, executing advanced programs for leading aerospace manufacturers. The device will reduce reliance on external suppliers and reinforce the Aerospace business portion of Godrej Enterprises Group’s market position as a key supplier in the global supply chain,” explains Maciej Korecki, Vice President of the Vacuum Segment, SECO/WARWICK Group.
High-Flying Technology
The furnace on order is a high efficiency, horizontal, cylindrical system for brazing and heat treating nickel, titanium and stainless steel alloys. It is equipped with a fully metallic hot zone with MoLa screens, ensuring very high process purity. The device reaches temperatures up to 1300°C (2372°F) with Class 2 uniformity, meaning within +/- 5°C throughout the entire working volume. The system has sufficient heating power for dynamic heating of loads around two tons (approx. 4409 lbs.), meeting the requirements for manufacturing complex aerospace subassemblies. The high vacuum package allows the system to achieve vacuum levels in the range of 10⁻⁵ millibar. The furnace is also equipped with an argon quenching system at nearly 2 bar absolute pressure, enabling rapid cooling of the load while maintaining the required metallurgical parameters. The automation is based on a Siemens system. The entire solution fully complies with AMS2750 and AMS2769 standards in the area of TUS uniformity tests, SAT apparatus tests, and instrumentation classes, which is crucial for processes under the supervision of special aerospace process standards.

“SECO/WARWICK will deliver the furnace and process solution from Poland, while all auxiliary devices will be manufactured in India. This combination of European vacuum engineering and local production enhances the SECO/WARWICK Group’s ability to provide long-term support to the customer onsite, both in terms of service and potential future upgrades. It’s worth emphasizing that the SECO/WARWICK India office in Mumbai is just a few kilometers from the Aerospace business unit of the Godrej Enterprises plant in Vikhroli, and the manufacturing facility in Chakan is about one hundred and fifty kilometers away, ensuring quick access to engineering and service teams,” says Arvind Agarwal, Managing Director of SECO/WARWICK India.
