Jupiter Aluminum Industries, JUPALCO, has ordered two additional Vortex furnaces for aluminum coil annealing from SECO/WARWICK. These units are equipped with the efficient, patented Vortex 2.0 system.
The Vortex 2.0 furnaces are designed specifically for annealing aluminum coils in multi-zone chambers with a precise temperature control system for each zone. The Vortex system ensures excellent temperature uniformity (+/- 3°C) and eliminates the risk of local overheating of the coil surface, which directly translates into improved final product quality. The big size of the coils (max. coil outside diameter: Ø2600 mm; max. coil width 2300 mm, max. total load gross weight (coil + spool): 93.6 t) in this project makes it a unique design today, but it is expected to become increasingly popular in the future.
Thanks to their unique design and advanced control systems, Vortex 2.0 furnaces significantly shorten the total process time compared to traditional solutions available on the market, leading to greater productivity and energy efficiency.
This is yet another order from JUPALCO, which previously ordered three Vortex 2.0 furnaces in 2023. The current order confirms the customer’s trust and the success of SECO/WARWICK technology.
“Repeat orders are the best proof of recognition for the technology. Vortex 2.0 not only guarantees the highest quality aluminum processing but also provides time and energy savings – key factors in today’s metallurgical industry. In the latest, patented 2.0 version, Vortex systems, thanks to a system of appropriately directed nozzles, ensure higher production volumes with lower energy consumption,” explains Piotr Skarbiński, Vice-President of the CAB and Aluminum Products Segment at the SECO/WARWICK Group.
SECO/WARWICK Group conquers the Indian market
The Indian market for flat rolled aluminum products is growing dynamically – its value is expected to increase from USD 4.5 billion in 2025 to USD 12 billion in 2035. More and more manufacturers, such as JUPALCO, are planning investments in new rolling mills, creating huge growth potential for SECO/WARWICK technology both in India and in global markets.
“SECO/WARWICK Group consistently implements its strategy of strengthening its presence in the Indian market, which is reflected in numerous contracts. We are particularly pleased with contracts from partners who return and choose SECO/WARWICK solutions again,” said Arvind Agarwal, Managing Director of SECO/WARWICK India.
JUPALCO is an aluminum factory and part of the Jupiter Group. The JUPALCO rolling mill in India was established two years ago. The first machines for the mill’s machinery park were also supplied by SECO/WARWICK.
“Two years ago, we chose three Vortex 2.0 systems, which at the time fully met our needs for aluminum heat treatment at JUPALCO. Today, we are ordering another two systems. This is the result of our development and increased production volume. The Vortex 2.0 system combines ecology with economy. The efficient nozzle system makes production more efficient,” commented Sandeep Bajaj, CMD Jupiter Aluminum Industries, JUPALCO.
Vortex 2.0 – reducing cycle time
Vortex is a highly efficient system for annealing aluminum coils. In its latest 2.0 version, it has been equipped with a more efficient system of properly directed nozzles. Thanks to the use of patented air-stream technology, the SECO/WARWICK aluminum coil annealing system enables significant shortening of the process cycle, ensuring energy savings, increased efficiency, and improved surface quality. A key feature of the system is the increased heat transfer coefficient, achieved by directing high-speed air onto both sides of the coil. As a result, the air flows through the edges of the coil, not just its outer layer.
