- In field installations: set up, adjust, troubleshoot, revise systems and correct problems which develop during the erection, operation and repair of heat processing equipment
- Consults with customer or supervisor to plan layout of equipment.
- Studies blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications to determine installation procedures.
- Installs or oversees installation of equipment according to SECO/WARWICK’s specyfications.
- Operates system to demonstrate equipment and to analyze malfunctions.
- Interprets maintenance manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, to carry out equipment repairs, utilizing knowledge of electronics and using standard test instruments and hand tools.
- Instructs and directs workers in servicing and repairing equipment.
- Consults with engineering personnel to resolve problems in system operation and maintenance.
- May instruct workers in mechanical and electronic theory.
- May supervise workers in testing, tuning, and adjusting equipment to obtain optimum operating performance.
- May advise management regarding customer satisfaction, product performance, and suggestions for product improvements.
- Perform troubleshooting and revisions of relay and instrumentation circuitry.
- Understand material processing systems and processes. Analyze, troubleshoot and correct problems.
- Perform set up and adjustments of systems; analyze deficiencies and correct them.
- Look for ways to improve furnace installation and commissioning.
- Perform above responsibilities with limited assistance from the Engineering Department.
- Promote safe, efficient equipment and operations.
- Monitor, control and report of field costs.
- Ensure that all warning signs are in place at installation.
- Ensure workers do not enter confined spaces without completing proper permitting requirements.
- Follow established quality program, as a condition of employment, as stated in the Corporate Procedures.

- Become highly knowledgeable in the specifications, capabilities, and operation of SECO/WARWICK products and understand phases of power heating components and circuitry
- Answer customer and installer technical inquiries regarding SECO/WARWICK products via telephone, letters, fax, and e-mail
- Travel to customers facilities to provide on-site support of SECO/WARWICK industrial heating equipment and troubleshooting as required
- Troubleshoot PLC problems
- Act as liaison between customer and product team within SECO/WARWICK
- Monitor, document, and report on installations and repairs in SECO/WARWICK equipment
- Identify and recommend improvements in SECO/WARWICK products, documentation, and procedures
- Review special circumstances and authorize warranty service when deemed appropriate
- Review owner’s manuals, installation manuals, and maintenance manuals for completeness, technical accuracy, and areas likely to be misinterpreted
- Provide on-site support of SECO/WARWICK installations and troubleshooting in an Manufacturing environment
- Act as liaison between customer and other departments at SECO/WARWICK
- Train customer’s personnel in the installation and operation of SECO/WARWICK equipment
- Remain at customer installation or repair sites for an extended period as required
- Assume responsibility for customer satisfaction. Use judgment in resolving customer issues. Promote and maintain positive customer relations
