SECO/WARWICK will supply a single-chamber Vector vacuum furnace to a leading manufacturer of advanced technological solutions for the aerospace industry. This will be the third SECO/WARWICK vacuum device operating at the Partner’s Indonesian facility. The new furnace will enhance production capacity in the field of aircraft gear manufacturing.
SECO/WARWICK – Technology for Aerospace
SECO/WARWICK has provided multiple solutions to numerous companies in the aerospace sector in the past.
“For decades, we have been working for the aerospace industry and continuously improving our equipment to not only meet high quality standards but also to ensure maximum efficiency. For manufacturers of aircraft and helicopter parts, we almost always prepare unique solutions tailored to defined needs. In this case, the Partner ordered a vacuum furnace that has been additionally equipped to maximize the efficiency of heat treatment for aircraft gears produced by the client,” explains Maciej Korecki, Vice President, Vacuum Segment, SECO/WARWICK Group.
SECO/WARWICK has supplied vacuum solutions to plants manufacturing aerospace components on every continent. This extensive experience is the result of the superior quality of its vacuum furnaces, which prove themselves even in the most demanding industries. SECO/WARWICK equipment processes parts for most top passenger, commercial and military aircraft.
Vacuum Furnace for Aerospace
The single-chamber Vector vacuum furnace on order enables the efficient heat treatment of large components, while maintaining a compact design.
“Thanks to the inverter control, we can activate the optimal cooling power at the appropriate stage of the process. A major advantage of this device is its low heat loss and excellent temperature distribution in the graphite heating chamber, which is resistant to rapid wear and simple to operate and maintain. Our brand’s vacuum furnace offers numerous options, such as convection, directional cooling or isothermal hardening, all of which increase the performance and efficiency of the unit,” says Paweł Okinczyc, Sales Manager at SECO/WARWICK.
Vector is the flagship product of SECO/WARWICK’s vacuum segment. The design process took many years, with countless tests and trials at SECO/LAB laboratories, numerous implementations and standardization, all resulting in a product of unrivalled quality. The modular construction allows the device to be modified, and additional options to be added according to production needs.
The Vector is equipped with several systems: convective heating (improving heat transfer efficiency during lower temperature heating); directional cooling (allowing problematic components in terms of shape to be cooled in different ways); and isothermal hardening (enabling better cooling process control through enhanced charge temperature management and frequency converter-based fan control).
An undeniable advantage is the dew point sensor system. This system addresses one of the critical aspects of heat treatment—preventing condensation of water vapor, which can cause oxidation of the treated load surface.
